My car gets 30 mpg...at 60mph. I wonder what the mileage is at 100 mph?

it isn't really the gas mileage that is the problem with this, but rather that the carbon dixoxide levels comeing from the car doing 100mph, rather than the car doing 50 mph, is whats a bigger problem. if everyone drove at the speed limit, the decline in carbon dioxide would be great, though to be honest i'm accually being a hypocrit with this, but really just quoteing what my dad says and does, i wish i could drive that slow i really do:( and good gas mileage helps too

i'm also the guy in the market to buy a 1998 toyota supra TT, i know i suck but, i least i admit it, that's the first step:grinno:

Or perhaps you would prefer this article sandtiger and anybody else here who's interested.

Maybe this news article will be more credible. :D

"The op-ed goes on to note that Al owns three (very) spacious homes, including a primary residence over 10,000 sq ft with 20 rooms and 8 bathrooms; That there is no record of Al using the “wind energy” option for his homes, although it is available through regional power companies; That he continues to own stock in Occidental Petroleum which according to the article “has been mired in controversy over oil drilling in ecologically sensitive areas.”; And lastly that his property sits on a Zinc mine, which has been cited for dumping minerals into local waterways."

"The issue here is not simply Gore's hypocrisy; it's a question of credibility. If he genuinely believes the apocalyptic vision he has put forth and calls for radical changes in the way other people live, why hasn't he made any radical change in his life? Giving up the zinc mine or one of his homes is not asking much, given that he wants the rest of us to radically change our lives."

so do you dispute any of the facts he gave on the movie?

Look DavidW. I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to divert the thread away from my point. The fact is that I proved above that Al Gore is just really a scumbag.

Do you think it doesn't matter who the messenger is? Is the message more important than the messenger even if the messenger is as big a hypocrite as this guy?

Can you see how he loses a lot of credibility for his message?

you bone head's

anyone who addresses and makes it a priority for the world to know is obviously going to get money and fame out of it, but its not the fame or money he's after, obviously you get money from maknig this movie and such and fame for being one of the few to open the worlds eyes to this problem. he is trying to get the message across that we as a human race need to stop this from happening.

POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER 'TRUTH'
Mon Feb 26 2007 17:16:14 ET

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.
