Senegal bichirs like to bail too, try to cover your tank.

Yeah, I know....the tank is FULLY covered now. Thanks!

Those are Senagal Bichirs. I think you'll start seeing aggression soon. The tank is also very cramped. I wouldn't advise doing this.

If they start fighting then relocation won't be a problem. I'm kinda hoping the senegal is tough enough not to get picked on by the dempsey....thinking it might work for a while.

eh in my opinion....

giant danio= 55g with a school of 6
jack dempsey could live there with them.

the pleco if its a common or sailfin will probably get 18inches on average....maybe a 125g min.

the dragon goby i know nothing about in terms of tank size...but i know for a fact it is brackish and i have heard they need live foods and refuse pellets and flakes.

i say get a pair of rams....a school of 8 smaller tetras...and a bristlenose and call it a night

The dempsey will be going to a 55 gallon after a few weeks. Like I said before, its a GROW OUT TANK! Fish will be coming and going in this tank all the time. There are other larger tanks. I do understand about the danio being happier in a school, but when we got the 20 gallon he was included, and he had been in there alone (with the exception of a pleco) for quite some time from what I was told.

And you are wrong/misinformed about the dragon gobies. Before the one I just had committed suicide he was eating flakes and algae wafers every day. In fact he had yet to refuse anything.

Came in to work this morning to find that our danio was not feeling so well. Not really sure who did it, but my bet is on the Dempsey taking him out and then the bichir and pleco helping to "clean up"....

That's what happens when too many aggressive fish are crammed into a small space.

Yup, circle of life. We're thinking about throwing some feeder guppies in there for fun, but we don't have a quarantine tank so I'm a little apprehensive.

It would be the circle of life if it was in nature, or even in a large enough tank, but not here. Here it is quite the opposite. You should get some driftwood, some plants, and a group of small community fish, and ditch all the fish you have now before they kill eachother.

Please don't get all preachy in my thread kid, I know what I'm doing. As I stated previously, this is a grow-out tank.

OK fair enough.

Disclaimer:....for anybody that doesn't know, keeping a bichir and a dempsey in a 20 gallon permanently is obviously a bad idea.
