I have a good petco around my house... well fish wise... the "specialist" isnt all that knowledgeable about the names of the fish... When fish arent labeld to the picture he gives them away for the lowest fish price labeld... but one time i wanted to get bloodfin tetras and he told me that hed only sell me 3 4 pieces and to come back in a week for another 3 or 4 peices as they end up having nitrite spikes and die... i duno much about tetras i was just trying to get something that schools looks nice and my GATF could eat when he got hungry..
pdbrady i bought some snooks and they are like silver.. i went to anothe lfs and they are the color of ur fish in ur avatar but so much smaller then the ones i have. i duno wats goin on.... sorry to go off topic well not really.. BAd stores no color on the fish??? lmao

i went to petco today for a new light for the tank, and there was a beautiful 5" pink peacock there with no price tag, i asked the fish guy how much the pink peacock was, and he said what pink peacock? i pointed to it, he said on no thats a young electric blue jack dempsey, they dont turn blue until about 8"in... this is when i wanted to smack his head and told him he couldve had a v8...
the v8 was priceless i agree with both sides of this argument, a big reason a lot of petsmarts, and petcos are nasty and dont care for thier fish are because of the managers. but if there are knowledgable employees who care about fish i feel they should take it upon themselves to clean the tanks. the petsmart in my home town is gross the fish always look sick and the tanks are always filthy. the petsmart an hour away from me has very knowledgable employees and they take care of thier fish and the other animals for that matter. i have a friend who works in the photo department at meijer and will go on her breaks to the pet department to feed, clean and care for the fish, hamsters, birds and any other living thing in that department. it boils down to the type of person/people who work at these storesYea, and I have been wanting a RD for some time. He will soon have a 72 bow with a green phantom pleco, a FM, and a gold or turquoise severum (been wanting one of those too).
