I just heard that two US soldiers were disarmed by Mexican authorities a week or two ago.......ON AMERICAN SOIL!

I bet hes fed up with the games. Sending armed troops down there....... "say hello to my little friend" hahaha
I seriously hope not. We don't need US troops getting hurt, and we don't need a quasi-war with Mexico. This sounds like a bunch of teenagers who say "We're so tough, and we're carrying knives please let someone start with us." , without realizing that there is nothing to be gained from a fight. These coyotes are serious criminals. A fight, and deaths, will only encourage them, and the people they are escorting are ignorant and desperate enough that walking through a warzone won't discourage them at all.
The solution to the problem should be obvious.
1) seriuosly seal the boarder to illegal crossing.
2) institute some sort of immigration reform to allow honest people to come here legally, with what is available to them.
3) some sort of reform to clean up the south side of the border to get rid of the mess sitting there. (That is Mexico, so any improvement there may be fantasy. Their government is notoriously inept and corupt - that's why these people are sneaking into the US instead of just staying in Mexico after travelling there.)

We have a right to protect our boarder and the agents that are responsible for it. They arent escorting these people out of the kindness. Most of these coyotes are extensions of the drug cartels and completely take advantage of everyone involved.

Unfortunately bullets are the best deterrent until the politicians start doing their jobs
Yes, they should stop them, but getting into a shootout with a bunch of people like that isn't stopping anyone. These people need to be stopped every time they try crossing, or at least 80% of the time, so that they don't make money. They also need to be stopped by drones, or aircraft, or with some kind of long-range weaponry and announcement so troops don't get hurt. Having a face-off is just asking for people to get hurt.
Yeah i can see your point. It does make sense. Im at the point where i feel like anything is better than what we've been doing.
I really feel for those boarder agents though. I bet the additional back up makes them feel a hell of allot more secure.
