K.I.S.S. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID

lets look at the kiss method and how many people use it....im just throwing this out there... this is how i keep rays and have several friends who do the same..

1. WE DONT CRY ABOUT THINGS....
2. water changes are done via tap water and prime.PH is what ever comes out of the tap
3. feed quality foods
4. KEEP THE WATER PRISTINE VIA WATER CHANGES(LARGE 50%)

these have proven to be very successful for us... rays have bred (some are still trying with multiple still births but we are dealing with that)
i have not used a test kit in 2 years give or take... i cycle tanks with out them.. ive put rays on very wide diets via starving them for several weeks... not 3 days and worry....again no need to cry about things...

these are just what we do... you want more specifics just ask... funny how when you keep things simple it works better...

Nic, I really admire you. I feel that our ideals are very similar.
You help spread the right knowledge and that is what this hobby truly needs.

i agree with everything BUT instead of prime i use ULTIMATE. it is much safer and doesnt have a GIANT warning statement on the label.

no body is like me in anyway on here..... very few people actually learn the hard way and figure there problems out on there own... all i see is repeat questions on the same things... everybody wants all the answers but does nothing to learn something on there own...

i do and have used ultimate... great product but just goes way too quickly... the ability to dose 10x the tank volume is very nice in emergencys only wish it was as concentrated as prime and lasted the same amount of time... but i do always keep it on hand...

LOL Believe me, we as people are NOTHING alike. I agree with many of your ideals as far as ray keeping goes. Simple, natural and organic. Not many people learn the hard way, but the hard way is not always the right way. I always try to find out the right way to do things with my rays before hand so I do not run into problems later on down the line.

At the end of the day it is my rays that matter. How and where I obtain the information I need to keep them happy and healthy makes no difference to me.

So you are a "pioneer" in ray keeping? Good for you. It's the pioneers like HERBERT AXELROD and HONS GONELLA and all of the respected researchers down in South America that are making the true breakthroughs. After all they are working to make this hobby/profession/obsession/study easier and more effective for all of us.

cheers!

im no "PIONEER" i just choose to learn certain things on my own... not come to a forum why hasnt my fish eaten its been 3 hours since i put him in the tank...i also speak with experience not repeat something somebody else wrote.. was going to write a book...ive kept highly detailed notes but i changed my mind though... no point in it since everybody cant grasp simple things so only way to write it would be technical and that wont fly... so it comes down to do as you wish... id rather take some initiative and try something and learn a few things... but hey thats just me...

If you wrote a book, I would buy it. I don't ever recall myself asking a question as silly as the one you just mentioned. From what you say I feel like you are a pioneer. Learning from your own mistakes and giving good advice from it. I give you alot of credit. But that's just me...

and sorry about that one time I failed to quote you in a post. I am not claiming to be an expert and I speak from MY own experience as well as the exp of others. All I want is to study and conserve a wonderful group of creatures.
I keep my rays happy.
Sorry if I ever offended you.
-Tom

at no point did i say that was you...
