What fish do you have in what size tank? I’m not completely sure I understand your thought process behind you’re feeding. I’m not saying it’s bad or judging I’m saying I’ve never heard of it but if it works it works all fish are different

I am not sure if we are on the same page. Let me clarify each thing separately

1. OP's fish: in picture you can see food floating on top, that's a red flag to me. And my initial comment was about that.

2. Magnus suggested one day fasting per week, to which I don't see any benefit or harm.

3. Feeding routine for a large fish: IMO large cichild can be fed every day, every other day, once every 3 days, twice a week etc.

4. Fish waste largely depends on quality and quantity of food.

5. I am not sure why you brought waste in the discussion.

6. To answer your question, I have 7-8 inch flowerhorn in 75 gallons.

No worries, it seemed like there was some miscommunication and I just wasn't seeing where conversation was heading. I am always happy to talk about fish food.
