Kamfra taken a beating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, then in this case. It was not properly home as you kept it with another FH.
Oh, one question as what MONSTER_OSCARS have said. It's with its fry so it lost its tail? What? Makes absolutely no sense to me at all. What did the frys do? Ate the tail? :D
Anyways, bump up the temperature and add some aquarium salt. Let it heal naturally, I don't like dealing with any chemicals.

No pal it was fry with its siblings, when they grew he got attacked by the more dominent one... Wich was mine haha

Also there a mix of a Kamfa and a Dovii i believe although the guy was sure they were cross dovii, mine looked alot like a dovii even had the horizontal stripe they have, but he grew fast and just let em ave it one day? it was real odd as they were so young.

Well, still falls into a category of keeping it with another FH. That's what happens. At 1½" I leave the tank to their own already. They start nipping on each other at that size already. But nothing to worry about. :D

hi not to be rude but i highly think frys eating off each others tail is not likely to happen. ive had over 20 frys in a 40 gallon many different times. but not once have i seen a fish with missing tail. ive seen the pecking at each other many times but it wasnt up to a point where they did terrible damage to each other until they got got about 2 inches. so i would have to say it might be a different occasion. maybe a defect from birth.

I was suprised when it happened.

They grew from about half an inch to 2-3 inches together they were fine.

The plan was to seperate when they started nipping and being territorial with each other.

Then i got home from work one day (i had fed them that morning they were fine) and mine had ripped the entire tail off of the other one.

I believe it may be something to do with there lineage, as ive owned Dovii fry and the larger individuals will kill/eat the weaker siblings.

I know Monster Oscars lacks manners but im glad everybody gave him the advice he needed and the Fish is fine now... in its own tank.

I believe the proper measurement is 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons.. google it. You can use ordinary table salt from the store.. JUST MAKE SURE THE PACKAGE SAYS "DOES NOT CONTAIN IODINE." THE IODINE WILL KILL YOUR FISH
