South Central...
I got an early B-day present today from my parents. They got me an Old Town "Vapor" Kayak. Over the last 2 years my wife and I have been really getting into kayaking. She got one in the spring so now it was my turn. No more borrowing kayaks from friends. :D Tomorrow I'm going to take it out on it's maiden voyage. So does anyone else enjoy this cheap, fun activity?

I get dibs after TheFishJunkie.

I kayak a few times a year. I keep a boat w/motor at a friends dock/lakehouse. Every so often I take one of his kayaks out for a cruise around the lake shoreline. It's great for sneaking in on fish that you normally couldn't with a motorized boat. I've fished from them a few times too, but it can be cumbersome to do.

Love my kayaking, its the best of both worlds. It can be extremely invigorating and good exercise, or you can take it easy and just veg.

I was big into kayaking in college. One of my roommates and I used to go to a couple local creeks almost every other week.

I had a Dagger Outlaw. It was a fun little boat. Not too big but not too small. Unfortunately there aren't too many good creeks around me for rapids. I ended up selling my kayak and supplies about 2 years ago, because I wasn't kayaking anymore, and my fiance never had, and it was just taking up space. I've regretted it ever since... :(

no way! i just got my first kayak as a birthday present on wednesday! i got a llbean manatee.

I plan on floating down some of the creeks in my area to do a little fishing. A friend of mine and I have been talking about doing that for a while now. Heck, I might even take my fishing pole with me tomorrow.

It sure is. Some of the creeks I've kayaked in have given me quite a workout. Tomorrow is a lazy float down the Susquehanna River.

So far I've enjoyed kayaking. I use to have a canoe growing up but it was sort of a hassle to load and unload. I love the fact that I can throw one of these on my roof and drive to my destination with ease.

I've never ridden in one of those smaller models like the Dagger. I remember when I was white water rafting the guides used those. They seem pretty maneuverable. That sucks that you don't have a lot of good places to take a kayak. The creeks around here are somewhat low right now so on occasion you have to drag them a few yards.

Awesome man! That's a really nice kayak. When are you taking it out on it's median voyage?

I love kayaking! Been wanting to buy one for myself this summer. Hopefully I can find a good deal this August. There is something so serene about being out on the water in a kayak.

The bf and I decided we wanted to kayak one day and (of course back when we lived at home) we both had been saving money up so we went and bought them..... really glad we did. Dont get to go out to much but there are a lot of cool places in Tampa area to go to. I have an ocean kayak venus 11. Its really fun I love kayaking, there are a lot of cool places you can go to that a boat cant always get too =]. I have mine set up for fishing as well.

The first 3 pics are on the east coast of FL at mosquito lagoon. The last 2 are crystal river a little north of tampa.
