So far I've enjoyed kayaking. I use to have a canoe growing up but it was sort of a hassle to load and unload. I love the fact that I can throw one of these on my roof and drive to my destination with ease.

I've never ridden in one of those smaller models like the Dagger. I remember when I was white water rafting the guides used those. They seem pretty maneuverable. That sucks that you don't have a lot of good places to take a kayak. The creeks around here are somewhat low right now so on occasion you have to drag them a few yards.

I liked being able to throw it on the roof and head out as well.

I should amend that statement to there weren't many whitewater creeks close by. Since I'm on the Ohio river, there's plenty of room for river/lake type kayaking with the larger boats. But a little flat-bottom whitewater kayak is a MAJOR pain to take out on open water like that.

Awesome man! That's a really nice kayak. When are you taking it out on it's median voyage?

already taken it out twice, just exploring local lakes and ponds so far

Electric kayak?

I had a good time yesterday. My kayak worked very well. The only thing bad about it is that it has a large cockpit so I was pretty exposed to the sun and I sure am feeling the burn today!

Here's the only pic I have of it right now from the day I got it. In a couple of days I'll upload the river pics.

I love kayaking! Been wanting to buy one for myself this summer. Hopefully I can find a good deal this August. There is something so serene about being out on the water in a kayak.

Kayaking has became pretty popular in this area for 2010. I think a lot of people look at it as a cheaper way to have a "staycation". Lots of stores in my area are selling them as well so do shop around. Mine was on sale at Gander Mountain for $329 (originally $379) but at Dick's Sporting Goods it was $379.

The bf and I decided we wanted to kayak one day and (of course back when we lived at home) we both had been saving money up so we went and bought them..... really glad we did. Dont get to go out to much but there are a lot of cool places in Tampa area to go to. I have an ocean kayak venus 11. Its really fun I love kayaking, there are a lot of cool places you can go to that a boat cant always get too =]. I have mine set up for fishing as well.

The first 3 pics are on the east coast of FL at mosquito lagoon. The last 2 are crystal river a little north of tampa.

That looks awesome Ash! The water is so clear down there. I've never done ocean kayaking but I know someone who had one yesterday when I was out on the river. They're just not as stable in the creek or river rapids up here. You need a kayak that's a little wider/shorter to make a lot of the quick turns.

I hear what you're saying. I was on the Susquehanna River yesterday and it's very wide (up to a mile+ in some sports) and pretty calm in most areas. There are a lot of rocks on it and it's very shallow. I was hundreds of yards from shore and it some spots it was only a few feet deep. People walk across this river all the time. But there are a lot of good creeks that flow into it that have some pretty good rapids.

Cool man, feel free to post up some pics! My wife and I took some with a disposable water resistant camera so it will be a few days until I get them developed. I didn't want to risk taking my digital camera with me. I've seen enough people flip and ruin their cell phones and what not.

That kind of defeats the purpose of kayak, lol. You'd have to get a special license for one of those in my state because it has an engine.

Yup I really enjoy it down here because I can snorkel or dive off the kayak if I wanted too. Yeah my kayak is great for taking it out on the ocean, an inlet, lake, river or pretty much anywhere here. The water here though doesn't run real fast and we dont have rapids so my kayak is pretty stable, but it def. wouldnt do well in rapids. You Kayak looks nice and I bet you have a lot of fun on it, I can't wait to see the pics from the river =]

Looks good ceeej. Did yours come with a drain plug? Mine didn't but I put one in over the weekend along with a bungee netting over the storage compartment.

no drain plug on mine, may i ask how you added one yourself?
and i like the look of yours, the shape gives it a real sleek look

yall have some nice yaks, i'll take a couple of pics of mine, an older wilderness systems sit in day tourer, and a sit on top (malibu 2) that im eventually gonna rig for fishing.
