Ok, I went and got some plants and fish from Superway Aquarium in Hayward. Well, I got a surprise in the java fern that I got. There were 5-6 kuhli loaches in there, hiding among the roots and leaves. The owner unintentionally shorted me on a neon tetra, so this made up for it, lol. But, I'm not sure if I want them in my tank. They'll just take up part of the biological capability or whatever of the tank because they'll be in the tank but I'll never see them. Though they'll be pooping and breathing and eating the same as the other fish.

Anyways, should I take them back next time I visit that place (have to figure out how to get there using the BART) or just keep them? I'm not the type to cheat anyone out of their money, so this is playing on my conscience cause he was a pretty cool guy. Plus, it may be better for my tank as far as the biological aspects go.

I adore my kuhlis, they don't take up much bioload and they come out at night and play, their fantastic fish. I see my guys all the time.

I vote keep them.

scaring girls is the best use for anything I can think of. I say, if you don't care either way, and its not a hassle to, give them back. but if its a lot of trouble to re bag them, and the store is out of your way, don't worrie about it. after all, it was HIS mistake, and gas costs a lot.

Honesty is the best policy but I don't think this incident should weigh on your conscience. The fish probably cost 28 cents each wholesale. I vote keep em!

Lol, alright, guess that settles it. The shop is a few cities away and I don't have a car, only way to get there would be through public transit such as the BART. So I guess I'll just keep them. Do they just scavenge for food? Or do I have to put something special in there for them? All of the other fish have settled in, the ram is always swimming around in the back of the tank trying to escape. Maybe I should get him a girlfriend to keep him company, lol.

Super easy to keep & eat just about anything. They eventually get fat and lay on their sides in classic loach fashion. I had some that lived for almost 10 years that would have likely gone another 10 yrs. if it hadn't been for an ice storm that knocked out my power for seven days.

I would keep them. You should enjoy thier personality. Thier bio-load would be the equivilant of a 1.5-2" convict.

If its a real bugger to keep them, sell them to a shop for store credit. But the money you made off them prolly wouldnt even be enough to cover the costs to get them there in the first place.
