I don't think they are too terribly rare, really. But I do love finding fish that aren't supposed to be in a tank. Especially albinos and other color morphs.

Bad shots of a great fish now happy in the community. Makes a total of three CAE's in the 55g. They like each others' company in spite of the battle I was afraid I'd get.

Think they'll snap when they get big enough? Two of them already show mating tubercles, so if it would happen, wouldn't it be sooner than later?

nice i love those fish...and yes they become more aggressive when they get bigger/older...suck on the sides of large body fish, and harass smaller fish. on the other hand, i had a few in my african cichlid tank, and sooner or later they all get killed and eaten.

They've already snapped and almost killed the bettas their previous owner had them housed with. I see some chasing, and once saw a bite on my angelfish, but in general all seems well. Everything in the 55g is fast and mean (jade goby, angel, jurupari(fast at least), brachyrhamdia meesi) or loaded with dumb luck (the mollies, gisnt otto).

I'm expecting to have to split them up between my tanks eventually. But the time bomb hasn't gone off yet.

my favorite thing about being in the hobby! knowing more then the stupid LFS! Finding the hidden jem behind the filter intake that everyone over looks!!! Congratz on the true albino!
