Keeping any natives in a pond with koi?

Can you PM me the his info or website...cuz i'm interested...there monsterous fish

You should be fine with the perch, bluegill, hybrid bluegill, crappie, and redear sunfish.

The LMB, SMB, walleye, and catfish could give you problems even if they are pellet trained.

I'm learning the hard way about the bass; my goldfish pond has three sections, each connected by a stream/waterfall. I caught a LMB about 6" long and put in the top pond for holding until I could transfer it to my big natives pond, but it didn't make it there because it somehow found a way to make it down the first stream to the second section, down the second stream to the bottom section where the goldfish are. I have been unable to catch it, and it has so far eaten one of my largest goldfish's eyes and nipped numerous fins.

I don't know anything about sturgeons and sterlets, so I don't know what to tell you about them.

It's about time :) I don't know much about the temperment of natives but I'm sure you know AA had (or has) an albino channel in with their koi. What color is the inside of the pond? Will the non-albino natives be visible?

I have a pond that is 20x25 and 5 feet deep. I have about 20 koi ,3 channel cats, 1 bullhead and a brook trout and no problems. They all will come up together for the pellets.

Huh, I didn't know channel cats where O.K.with koi or are they just similar in size? In my experience, catfish tend to eat whatever fish they can fit in their mouth.

bdizzy, what is your water temperature in the summer? I tried rainbow and brown trout in my pond about 2 years ago and they all died by August; my pond is about 6 ft deep in the deepest area and is spring-fed.

knh- that cat at AA is exactly what i want to happen in my pond!!! for those who dont know, they have several 2' koi, in with a 2' albino cat, and they all swim at the surface begging for food

in my pond everyone is still a little skittish. they are very active until i get close, then everyone scatters. once they associate me with food though, i'm sure that will change.

the color of the inside of the pond is a greyish/brownish/greenish color ... HAHA if that makes any sense ... anyhow, they will be very visible if they are in open water
for right now, i have some large 2'x2' slate tiles. i put one on each end, sitting on top of some bricks so that the fish can swim under them to hide. its ghetto, i know!
my plan is to get large pvc/drainage tile, cut it in half, and let them hide under the "arch" in a couple different areas of the pond

... i'm also toying with the idea of putting a divider of some sort in there, and keeping the koi / sturgeon on one end, and maybe some of the natives (bass) on the other end?
i talked to a guy who knows about the natives, and he said some of the panfish would be fine, but the lmb/smb/red eye and larger mouthed panfish would be a little risky

My pond in the summer gets to about 65 degrees. I heard that browns are the hardest to keep and brooks are easier. The brook is about 7" along with all the other fish.

K, my pond get's to 70 degrees in the summer if it's lucky; it's usually lower.

Huh, I was told when I got the browns that they were hardier than the brooks (Heck, the browns were even cheaper than the brooks so why lie about it to make a sale, I thought?). I got the browns at about 11" and the rainbows at about 8". I found at least one dead brown almost every other day until August; I just figured the rainbows met a similar fate when I found one in the stomach of one of the bigger dead browns (I have yet to catch either in my pond, so they must be all dead).

The divider idea should be fine; maybe use a divider that has small holes in it to allow for baby fish from either side to swim about as they please and provide food for other fish lol plus make it so you only need one pump instead of one for each section.

bass would tear up ur koi and maybe even ur catfish. tried it in my pond. the bass killed 2 koi that were bigger than them and the 10in bass killed a 22in catfish as well as pleco.

i would just get rid of the catfish and go with the koi and a school of sunfish like longear sunfish. white sturgeon would be a bad idea because they get to be huge! just googlesearch teh thing and you will see what i mean.
