Sooo,you caught or will catch a few Muskie from a nearby body of water that apparently is stocked with them.Then you want to attempt to breed them and place the offspring in the water where their parents came from...why go through the trouble of all of this?

I said that i could release the huge ones back, which apparently was a bad idea. Why do you keep questioning? I want to breed some fish species like every one of you. Maybe i want to open a Musky restaurant and serve grilled muskies to clients. Why do you even care?

I worked at muskellunge hatchery....I could say that you needs multi ponds for breeding purposes. Can't even overcrowd them in ponds and live foods are required for breeding purposes. Larger females might view the smaller males as their next meal when not in breeding season. No the muskellunges cannot spawn several times a year, it is physically impossible and they needs to be completely recovered which can take days or even weeks before they will eat their first meal after the spawning. They tends lost the body condition from plumper to super skinny.

Perhaps you need to thinking about the animals' welfare.
There is a reason why many people don't eat muskellunge or selling them as a food. Bony and high mercury in the fillets...strong fishy flavor and coarse fillet (chewy)... then there's high cannibalistic rates and poor fry survivability.
