keeping cat away from pets

I might get a kitten, how would I keep it away from my tank my greek tortoise gerbils and stick insects?

Keep it in a different room. If your insects are within a tank of some sort they should be fine. As for the tortoise keep the two separate when you can't observe interaction. Never let it near the gerbils or they will be killed or eaten.

If its a young kitten it shouldn't be overly interested in going after your other pets so long as you make sure it's kept away from them. Now a adolescent or young adult cat that's a different story

Maybe you should try introducing them in a controlled environment when the kitten is still young. Put friends not food into its mind a young age I guess.
