Just came back in, only got 3 small and 3 medium's of the fatheads. I hope to get some shrimp today and use that as bait, maybe I'll attract something else.
And it is way too cold to go into the water, about 28degrees today!

The fish you're catching are creek chubs, not fathead minnows.

Well to update my own thread.
I have the four in the tank.
They like to keep together, so I might add some more.
They really don't move much, generally stay in the same area throughout the day.
Only move when I feed them, which is now Medium sized cichlid pellets.

Added more rocks and hiding places, hopefully more of them will introduce some movement!!!

Also try going down to the stream at night with a flashlight and a net! Some fish will sort of snooze along the banks.. Have you tried any crawfish yet? A good way to catch them is raw bacon or any raw meat. I am about to go out in 20 degree weather and see what I can catch, but then my stream is only 30 yards outside my door! Good luck, tank looks great!

I set a trap 2 days ago when temps were above 30.
Last two days, temps have been around the 0 and 10 marker.
So my "line" is frozen and I can't move it lol!

yes the fish u have are creek cubs you do know that when the males get to the right size breeding age they get little horn like white bumps on thier face like sum of the larger male barbs to they look kinda cool i used to catch them when i was little with corn and a tiny hook no rod just flig it in an the fish does the rest lol

Those are really nice fish. Creek chubs don't live around here though.

They get a bit big though. Looks like giant fatheads.
