keeping rainbow trout in with cichlids

thats a pretty trout! i was thinking about trying to get some baby lake trout soon to raise them in my native tank with some bluegill(until they outgrow the tank) but then again, that is a really difficult task:)
 
another thing, you must have running or moving water in the tank for trout, unless they are lake trout, being why i want lake trout
 
Trout need cold water. I can tell you that he won't be happy living with 70 deg water for long. I used to help out with a friend that has a fish hatchery. In july and aug he actually had to run water thru chillers and back into the ponds to keep the temp at 65 or lower. the trout might be fine for now, but he won't be happy long term. Put him back where you got him or eat him.
 
Le Patron, lake trout require even colder water and are usually found in deep water. I know, I fish for them quite regularly. The are not suitable aquarium fish.
