I have a peaceful community tank(450) that has tetras, red tail rasboras, Odessa barbs, spotted silver dollars, roselines, a pink tail and several cats (pictus, blochi, bristle nose).

I would like to add some "beef" such a persei, chocolate, uaru or other suggestions welcome

Which ones and how many would be safest for my mellow tank?

Thanks in advance for your input

The chocolate would be your best bet. They are very peaceful, slow moving and beautiful when mature
However these are quite big and should reach 10+ quite quickly. With your current stock and tank size I would only add the one, especially if you want to keep the tranquillity.

Personally I would be torn between a couple uaru's or chocolates. I like the body shape of both but the colors of the chocolate are nicer in my opinion.

just 1 chocolate in a 450 gallon????????

Both pearsei and Uaru are vegetarians as adults, and although neither would pass up an easy to catch high protein meal if it presented itself, both are at best, inept predators.
That said, you don't say whether or not, your community tank has live plants. And if it does, both the fish I mention, would eat them down thru the roots.

How much do each of them dig and am I missing other specimens that would work

Also would any of them be better as one of or in a pair/ trio
