Keeping the peace

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I really think you can anyone of the 3 you mentioned and not be limited to just them.

Thanks to everyone for your input and nice replies

I do love the tank, it has been many years in saving and planning. The final step will be a drip system when we can afford our remodel hopefully in a year or two it is the most maintenance free tank I have ever owned and a drip will make it even more so

You can see from how scapped it is that things don't come out after going in so I quarantine at least three months in the 90 before introducing new specimens

I will research borcoutti more and post pics when I get the cichlids here but that will be a few weeks to months

I know they haven't been mentioned, but I would do red severums. Very peaceful, beefy, and the splash of red in the tank would make them stand out really well. Plus they are usually easier to find than chocolates or uarus.

I am concerned about the chisel tooth bocourti chiseling my fish and a severum predating on the tetras, I will continue my research and I appreciate the input. Additional ideas welcome!

A group of satanoperca would be very peaceful non predatory and reach a decent size.

are you planning on growing these fish out in the 450 after quarantine? if so I think you should have very little problems with a few severums. if you're going to be growing them out elsewhere without such a population of dithers I can see how you could get some aggression. also, mine never dig unless they want to uproot some plants.

I have considered some earth eaters, thanks for the suggestion

I will be quarantining them in a 90 for three months or so before moving them into the display tank so a bit of both I guess
