Ya know, so many people are saying their kelberi are slow growers, but I have to say mine are not growing slow at all. I will shoot some updated pix later and you will be able to see how big they've gotten.
I had plenty of "blues" and they are equally fast growing as any of the "kelberi" that I have now.......perhaps what I got are not Kelberi

Ya know, so many people are saying their kelberi are slow growers, but I have to say mine are not growing slow at all. I will shoot some updated pix later and you will be able to see how big they've gotten.

kelberis are slow growing from my experience and i was going to say .. perhaps they are not kelberis but i am thinking that since they are extremely small they may grow fast to a certain size.. i have noticed that my smaller kelberi is slowly catching up to the larger guy from the first shipment.. so hmmm again only time will tell.

I agree with you, Boost. I do think that all Cichla are fast growers up to a point, but I have to say that every species of Cichla that I have evr kept have grown fast...some very fast...especially wild temensis. Those grow like weeds. Yet again...only time will tell

you are right.
but by nature,they are fast growers anyways compared to many fish.
i didnt start my guys on live,and only one water change per month.
still grew very quickly.
now that theyve hit near 8 inches,its slowed down a tiny bit.
