Hi, I live in Taiwan and recently saw a batch of newly imported kels, all kinds of colours some with a lot of blue, for sure they were the real thing, I guess the blue grows out or the dealers cull the less attractive ones. In the same shop they have local bred kels from real stars to everyday lookers, the thing is it always a risk, you don't know how they are are going to turn out, but as for kels I was told the more black spots on the body the better and this seems true with some farmies i have that are developing nice gold around the black, it depends what you want, some specimens can look pretty gaudy, whilst subtle shades of olive gold can be really beautiful. Just my 10 pennyworth.
