Kelberi C.E.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wah those kelberis are hella nice!

Thanks guys. The Catfish is a LTSN (Leusistic Tiger Shovel Nose). The Kelberi are of curse top on my list right now but the Monos have always been my favorite. One because her tail Ocelaris is a 9. And of course thats my favorite number. Also because these two Peruvians turned out to be beautiful. Perfect markings by my standerd. The Orino was the newest mix to the 240g and it is working out well. I have had my fare share of losses, recently my Sting Ray but I am still blessed to have a nice collection. 3yrs into Cichla and few other species. 20 yrs of Cichlid keeping and I am still amazed at all of there beauty.

They are all looking awsome Mike! Your Kelberi have some very nice spangling going on. How big are they?

The Rapps Kel is 8'' (+/-) The 24k are 7'' and 6'' this may be an over estamating of course. But the spangles are out of this world. I can't capture them very well with my POS but I am trying to get my friend to let me take some pics with his DSLR.

It seems like every day my 3rd batcher has another gold spot on the anal fin. He even has his first gold spot on a ventral fin. I can't wait to see yours and mine get big. They are going to be well worth the long wait for sure:naughty:.

Btw - those Monos are smokin!

These are the Wild Peruvians from Killer Mike's the last shipment he got! :D

Hooraay!!! I've been waiting to see this update. Well worth the wait!!! Your fish are looking smoking as always bro!! If you need a bigger tank for those kel's I got room in the 240 LOL. Hopefully we can get together sometime soon if schedule's permit. I need to get my fix of your cichla. lol

Hey, man, long time. Fish are looking great. We'll have to get together again soon and catch up.

Sorry to hear about the ray when did that happen?

Ok to all local keepers that are trying there hand in Breeding. I have a chance in a life time proposition for you. The Peruvians are at it this time. They are currently laying eggs right now. They do this every two weeks around this time and so on. If anyone Paul or Scott or even Brian if any of you are interesrted in trying to rear these clutch of fry COME GET EM. There is a time limit to the offer as I will not touch the eggs unless one of you are interested. Of course the kicker is you can keep what ever you successfuly get to stay alive. I am using my Ol' Ladys (Eee Pc) so I cant downlaod pictures from here but I will try and get some up later. Let me know when you three finally get around to seeing this if not I am sure there will be many more chances in the future. I figured out that the Male Mono is breeding with both females at this point alternating between the two of them. SO LET ME KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED. If anything it will good practice. Just fyi if you have a tumbler it would benifit you more then just snatching the eggs and throwing them in an empty tank.

In two words "Cobra Pike". Two more Vieja Bredohri and of course Red Devil. The Cichla have been going back and fourth for power Obviously for breeding ground. SO the Ray and the Catfish catch the most hell because the free Roaming and the others are all teratorial of course. THe Cichla really don't care unless there breeding so when this happens it's all CHAOS. The Pike was the last adddition so naturally she is more on the defensive but with out a doubt has the biggest advantage of them all. ;) he basiclly decimated the Ray over night. I had notice bite marks and what not but it wasnt really bad. Or so I thought but in the end it was obviously to much. Three years for my first ray in some pretty over preditory tanks. I did pretty good for my first go around. Next ray (s) will be with other rays only!

Excuse all the errors the computer im on is only 8'' x 6'' and my fingers are HUGE compaired to this little ol thing.

Well thats to bad mike but ya 3 years in that tank is pretty darn good !!!Sucks the cobra had to take it out on the ray though.

Trust me she had help. She always has help. There is Cuban Hiathensis Male in there also so he is the dither for everybody but he resides in the same corner with the Cobra so I am sure he also shared in on the carnage.
