700 for a 5 inch fish is crazzi, lol people who bought these for resale didnt make a smart choice.. maybe when he is 16 inches and a stunner you can get some decent money but thats about 2 or so years from now

As far as Rapps and the prices over the pond. It's purely the demand I don't think Rapps is trying to make a buck but he is making some money but more or less he is getting a highly sought after item that WAS NEVER TO BE SHIPPED HERE TO THE STATES EVER AGAIN. So even if he charged what were paying for our rare Sting Rays I bet someone will pay the price tag. But at the end of the day in this hobby how can anyone complain about money?

Of course yes I wish I could get a Kelberi for $45.00, but there charging $50.00 + for Orino's at the LFS so imo anything Rapps ask us to pay is worth it because it's the demand not the man. And he was able to get us all an item that we may never have seen anywhere else except the Buy and Sell section here on MFK for about five times the amount we paid dealling with someone I know I can trust to get me quality cichlids.

I agree with you here. I don't know what fish go for in the US so what I said was just an impression I got. All the other fish on his site look to be excellently priced so if you say the price for kelberi's is about right then that's fine.

of people angryy @ you! Bigguapote is very well known for his expirience with rare fish and possibly been in the game much more longer than your., LFS.. So tell me how reliable is your connect?? As far as I'm going with you, is yours do turn out to be kels, you struck luck and got them at a decent price! Now walk away with it! Do not bragg and bring down a vendor that you don't know and never dealth with.. Because you got yours cheaper!!! IMO, biguapotes price is alot cheaper that I have seen others go for, besides your bragging! If u don't know and never heard of this guy.. He pretty much the one who sells them to your local fish store ( rare cichla ) he was a major part of distributing cichla our country and all of our tanks! From way back then (dieselmack era ) till now!!! So does your lfs have that same resume? Doubtfull as it being your only first time going through him... And possibly he got you high on the thought of yours being kels.. Or as they say.. Cichla sp. Yellow sorry boggy, not to offend you!! But bro.. On a serious note... Not to offend you! But your bragging may lead you in a path of trouble.. So beware of the movement cuz it may catch up to you!!!! Best of luck with your kels.. I'd still pick RAPPS on any given day... I'm not here to compare suppliers in two completely different countries, I know full well that rapps has amazing fish and his prices are excellent on the whole. It's just the price of kelberi shocked me a little but I've seen how huge the demand is in the states and that in turn has to govern the price of the fish.
I wasn't bragging about my fish at all. All I was saying was just because I didn't get them from Rapps it doesn't mean they are not the same fish. After all they were imported from minas gerais as kelberi just like everyone else's. I'm done with discussing authenticity of fish, it's not worth the bother. I'll just keep feeding them and see what happens.

if you ask me the kelberis jeff brought in were at a super affordable and reasonable price.. i figured that if i ever saw juvi kelberis for sale from anyone else they would always be in the 450-500 range just for juvis. and a perfect example . thatfishguy was trying to sell his for 700... so i think the 125 and 175 that jeff was selling them for was a steal! honestly i don't know anyone else that could get or offer rare cichla for that great of a price.. most other people are just looking to put big bucks in there pocket and will milk you for all you have for a rare fish that you often never see ever.

I honestly didn't realize how much these fish go for. Good call on the guy who was trying to resell them at astronomical prices. That's the last thing our hobby need's. It's as bad as what happens with concert tickets.

To be honest I think Jeff might be taking you guys for a ride as far as price goes. You guys are totally mad about cichla and are willing to pay a fortune for these fish and Jeff knows it.

We don't have anywhere near as much demand in the UK. The lfs where I got mine specializes in importing rare and wild fish and said it wasn't that expensive to get the kelberi. I only paid about 45 USD each for mine.

I'm sure there are a few members on here that think mine are not kelberi purely because of the price tag.

look i have nothing against you... im just stating the true facts on how you, yourself, carry yourself or being outspoken.. which can come off very disrespectful.... i have already told you me and you are cool... but it seems you still hold a grudge.. when i speak or tell you something thats a NO, NO.. you get very defensive.. for a person that starts conflict... i have stated in my comment that i am not OFFENDING YOU.. just saying.. i wouldnt say that if i were you!!
also you saying in numerous threads how much you got yours for.. and then throwing it out there and here... knowing all these kelberis that are coming around are from jeff rapps... so there are discussions about who has what, what do they look like, any updates, and so onn, etc... and then you come on saying you got yours for $45us at your LFS, is pretty much bragging.. saying and telling everyone jeff has possibly took them for a ride for their money... is that not disrespectful and not bragging to you?? and hence the fact you show you are backin up and trying to regain cover and blowing it too me... will just keep that aside for another discussion sometime later in the future..
as far as being the same fish... who knows bro... LIKE YOU WERE SAYING... THATS A BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE>> i got mines cheaper and you guys payed $155us dollars more.... so in that case... theyre might be a difference??

Look I've said I was wrong about the prices. I know you wanted to point out what I said was a no no! You were right to do so. I hold no grudge towards you so please don't think that. I can understand now why you got the impression I was bragging and I will be careful not do so in future. I think I will sit back a bit and keep my opinions to myself, not because of you but because of me. I word thing's badly and don't mean to start any conflict or come off as disrespectful.
