Ken's Fish Help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks everyone...

I am curious about their Beefheart and Earthworms flakes. I'm pretty sure they'll be on my order. The 5 Stick Blend looks promising, and the Catfish Pellets look like they're worth a shot.

Has anyone tried their Soft & Moist w/ Krill pellets? I'm thinking about giving them a try...

One last thing, if anyone can help me out...

I am stressing out over whether or not to pick out a spirulina flake, or vegetable flake for my 3 SD's. I am already getting Cichlid Sticks, Earthworm Sticks, Vegetable Sticks, Spirulina Sticks, and Color Sticks... The thing is, my SD's grew up on freeze-dried bloodworms and Tetra tropical flakes. Will the sticks be an appropriate replacement?

In case you're wondering why I don't get both, I'm on a budget. :D

This probably should be a dead thread, but I just placed my order...

It's a bit of a large order for my first time buying, but I wanted to try as many different kinds as I could while still adhearing to my budget, and trying to guess what my fish would actually like. I figure if I'm going to buy food, I should probably get my money's worth out of it, and get enough to last a while.

I'll update this when it arrives, and let everyone know how it turned out, what I ordered, and how my fish reacted to it. Someone will find it useful I'm sure. ;)

Well... My order was here when I woke up this morning. I'm extremely impressed. Opening the box, I must say, I knew I ordered a lot of food, but WOW didn't I order a lot of food...

I got the following (just put "Ken's Premium" in front of everything listed):

Tropical Flake
Earthworm Flake
Floating/Sinking Cichlid Pellets
Sinking Pellets with Brine Shrimp
Slow Sinking Growth Pellets
Catfish Pellets
5 Stick Blend
Freeze Dried Bloodworms

... yeah... Consider the combined total of my two tanks is less than 75g, that's a lot of food. My fish are pigs though, so it's ok.

My severum loved the Slow Sinking Growth Pellets, and started munching on a few sticks from the 5 Stick Blend, so that's a very good sign. That alone was worth it to me. My Angels seemed to like the Earthworm Flake quite a bit. So far so good.

I am very happy I placed this order. I'll definately do it again next year when this stuff runs out. ;)

ken is the man. he is a great guy. if anyone in the mass area ever has a chance call him and ask to stop by his facility. its amazing. plus, ken is an awesome guy to talk to. he knows all sorts of people in the aquaria community. im glad your fish are enjoying his food, i know mine do!

Definately... I couldn't be any happier with my order. He even threw in some stuff for F**e... Unreal.

Go Ken! :D

I just ordered 15lbs. of the 9.5mm sinking pellets. food plus shipping to my house was less then 55 total.

My SD's eat mostly regular flakes, cichlid pellets, and shrimp pellets. I feed them spinach also though.
