I fixed my 29 gallon so that it may be fit for pbass. I plan to grow them out in this 29 quarentine till about 6" then they will be going into the 125. Then to my 6' round stock tank.

Hope this tank is good enough for baby pbass so critic it please!

29 gallon AGA
1x 300w heater @ 87°
1x 150w heater @ 89°
1x Hydor koralia 2 powerhead for flow
1x Aquaclear 110 filter running just ceramic rings and sponge
2x air pump running to a 12" bubble strip

I read they need lots of oxygen and high temperatures since they are so suseptable to ick...not sure if there is to much flow going on in the tank or not....critic please!
Looks like you got it covered when yo get them i am sure you will be watching all the time LOL... So after they settle in just check for exeptional heavy breathing i they are not then you have enough air to them :D

I dont plan on keeping them in the quarentine for 6 months? Or the 125 for that long either....the sooner I get the stock tank the better.

Thanks Hulon for responding. I am so hyped to get them. I have decided to get 4 and a rtcxtsn to grow with them. I will have to keep an eye on the cat however....I have seen their growth first hand as I have had two already and they could make a quick meal of a pbass!

Any more suggestions or tips Hulon?

I will keep an eye on him. Thanks nes, and boy do I know he will outgrow the stock tank. I have a 12' round one planned for when he gets to big for the 6'er. I have had two already and seem them jump an 1" a week or more...I'm prepared. :)

better grow the bass out a bit bigger than the catfish before you get him, those rtcxtsn are rediculously aggressive. subscribed, sounds like a cool project... lets see some pics when you get the stock tank up!! and i dont think you need all that heat in your 29 gallon quarentine/grow out tank, i only run 3 x 300watt heaters in my 240 and the water stays 82-84 degrees.

I have the two heaters so one can always be a backup...plus they are the only heaters I have. And I know what the growth is like with the rtcxtsn. Im not to worried...he can always go into the 125 if I start to worry about him eating the pbass.

Yeah the feeding i had and Ocellaris R.I.P He was pretty picky:(

That sucks oddball. :(

In the words of Borat "I very excite" to get my pbass :D

NEXT QUESTION:
What's the growth rate like of pbass....1" a week like my monster cats or like 1" every two weeks?
