nice.. make sure you feed those babies twice a day.. even if they're small meals. Also, watch those heaters, they will sit right on top of them and burn themselves.

try crushing a few pellets and letting them soak in w/ the bloodworms...then feed em slowly...not the whole thawed cube at once. My orino's would eat off a spoon. This way you know they are getting the pelllets. Over time add more pellets to the mix. In no time they will be eating straight pellets.

Ok, I will try that. Right now they are feeding 3-4 meals a day. Basically whenever I see them darting around looking for food. They love the 89 degree temp, and 25% wc's a day. They should be monsters in now time at all. Just hoping the RTC doesn't mae quick work of them. They RTC and Monos are all the same size as of right now, but in a week we all know the RTC will be 1-1.5" bigger than he is right now. Hhaa. I really need to get there pond setup. I have a little 5' kiddie pool that I may just put the RTC in for the time being so he won't make a snack of the Cichla. I would hate to have gone through all this effort, just to have no Cichla in the tank one morning, yah know?

And that's why I love sump filtration so much. No heaters in the tank! :D

I've noticed that the little peacock bass do seem to enjoy hanging out directly by the heater; hopefully they will be unable to figure out a way to be directly on the heater considering it is vertically mounted now.

How are your little guys doing? You might want to move the RTC sooner rather than later; they've been known to devour fish just as long as they are.

Hey Kevin, my little guys are killing Omega one dried Mysis Shrimp 60% protein, little smaller then frozen. Going thru 1.5 oz.every two days. Just found a Omega guy thats will do a huge bucket for $17

Update: They are all growing fast and I can see a heirarchy becoming established amungst them. Instead of taking 1-2 cubes of bloodworms a day they are up to 4. I have yet to get them onto anything else, as they try some tilapia but spit it out, when they put on a little more size I will try fasting them for a bit, then try again with the other foods. I now see why those C.R.E.A.Mer's out there love their Cichla so much....they are by far the best fish personality wise that I have ever owned. They are even becoming my favorites over my RTC, and that takes ALOT of love to get to that point.
