Kewpie's Pewpie err Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I haven't had to deal with aggression in my mostly thorichthys and cribroheros 150g. Sure there are little thorichthys squabbles amongst the same species (meeki, mixteco or pasionis), but they don't harm each other. It's pretty funny to watch at times actually. Each fish really has a lot of personality. The cribroheros will ignore everything and just go about their business in sand sifting. These cichlids in a big enough tank will work out in the long term. If you are looking for a peaceful CA set up, I highly recommend these guys.

They are neat. You won't have the same aggression problems like you had with the salvini.
There is a breeder fairly closeby, I was told that a single female 3 stripe apisto would be good. I don't know if 2 females would work and a male is a tad too big IMO

I don't want a salvini ever again lol. they look great but are eviiil, the guy that took mine has it in a 200 gal cichlud community and it has pretty much taken 2nd spot in the tank only outdone by a fish twice its size

I can't offer much info on the apisto because I've never kept them myself.
Salvini aggression is unpredictable. Males tend to be more aggressive though. Tank size really matters. They can peacefully exist with others given enough space like a 6' tank. Very territorial fish.

I'm busy looking into it, I'm probably staying with one since I don't wanna push it

Mine was a male, so It's understandable. apparently mine is not crazy but territorial in his new tank. He attacked my knives which was unforgiveable!

Kribs get 3-4" and A.Thomasi get to 3" tops. those are my only easily available choices of african river cichlids

Are they expensive ? I think you'll be fine if not indefinitly for a long time. One of the het growouts is either a female or subdominant male hasnt grown much at all its mayne 1.5 inches and my 5 to 6 inch sen has bothered it. Keep it fed well
