I'm probably going to waffle on what I want who knows how many times before I decide on a stock list. Right now I'm thinking of getting a bigger tank and stocking it less densely.
Him and his lady have been in their new home for a month so I figured it was about time to clean out their filter. I cleaned it in tank water but I'm guessing the bacteria colony wasn't strong enough and my tank went through a mini-cycle I believe. I come home from work and he's on his side, breathing really heavily. I dosed the tank with prime, put another established filter in the tank, changed the water and tried to move him through back and forth in the water to get it moving through his gills again.
This is really odd, hard to believe and ultimately possibly coincidental but my Endli swam up to my Polleni and curled around him so as to keep him propped up while he was breathing hard. The Polleni started to breathe a little more normally and then the Endli starts swimming around erratically, sometimes completely upside down. Meanwhile my female Polleni did not leave the males side.
I think by this time the established filter and prime started to do it's thing and I had done all that I could do so I turned off their light and went to bed after hours of trying to save them.
I woke up the next morning and both of them were alive. The Polleni is not quite himself yet but he's eaten the past few nights so, so far so good.
