So far. 6 hours on a 100 watt heater. Used 0.01 killowatts. Need the temp to drop more through the night 
I'm very interested in this thread. I estimated my fish tank costs years ago but I don't remember it now and was just a guess basically when i came to how often the heaters are on. What kind of fish you keeping over there in Everett. Im in Spokane...

26 hours running. The 100 watt aquarium heater has used 0.44 Killowatts.
It tells me at the current rate, my heater will cost me roughly 1 dollar per month.
Doesnt seem too bad. I'm gonna let it run 2 more days to get a bigger test sample.

68-80 is where the air temp was yesterday/today. As it can drop to 68 at night, and stays at 80 during the heat of the day.

I'm quite looking forward for input from colder climates, as i can guesstimate wintertime here. No way for me to know until then.

Sigh. Another 300 watt, stealth heater has gone out on me... Stray current in the water, this is the second one, in 6 months. Started with 2 of them 1.5 years ago. Now both have gone out of commission. I have another sitting in there now that I had spare. Time to find a new brand of heater for my 300g.
