I'm sorry for your losses but DK summed it up really.
Elephantnose's, not worth risking mixing the 2 together to be on the safe side.
I have had problems trying to add new fish to the tank my BGK is in, large cory adolphi, he grabbed one and i panicked and removed it and the other.
He has taken out an L200 and L91 previously aswell and a sailfin plec
I know people say their BGK is ok with this , that and the other but it all boils down to the individual temperment of the fish.
Yes my BGK is over 12" now and does handfeed but he's not happy with new tankmates. I recently introduced a pair of Hoplosternum Littorale, he's been fine but i think they too active for him and now he hides alot and rarely handfeeds.
As someone said, BGK's are predatory, especially at night and it's suprising how big their mouths really are.
Don't buy anything else without questions here first please
Sorry for you losses How many hiding spots were in your tank? You probably would've lost either the Elephant or the BGK because of the electrical pulses they emit. One of them would've killed the other for territorial purposes.

No one can guarantee your angels safety in a BGK tank and it is irresponsible for anyone to say BGK and elephantnose are ok together. People might do it with success but they would be the exceptions.
