CITES is not the problem....it allows for the trade of Asians.

the problem is the lacy act and the ESA. these are the laws that need to be ammended since they are keeping Asian Arowanas out of the USA.

Fat chance those will be changed anytime soon.

why i dont understand. were all good at keeping fish and i highly doubt that anyone is going to buy an expensive fish like an asian aro if they were illegal. Plus im sure some people would open up farms in the south and acutally help the population it's so stupid

why? 3000 for which asian? eitherway they are at a high price because it is illegal thats why? 2 it is a high priced fish as well in Asia. 3 whoever goes through the risk of importing them into US will want to make a bit of profit usually 100% which doubles the cost of the fish sometimes triple. may cost $500 USD in asia for a red but it can cost $3000 in US

exactly, ESA isnt retarded if it werent for them wed have far less species roamimg this earth n a lot of those who smuggle more than 1 say 10 are the ones that are only in it for the dough.
