How? Wouldn't that only apply if the US had asian aros smuggled in? And anyways, they cant be fished period, so how would they be "overfished" if they cant be fished to begin with?

i dont think that is true, because of their colors? let me tell you this there are also captive bred asian arowanas that are drab in color. and there are wild asian arowanas that have elegant and vibrating colors. Have you seen the real pahang gold asian arowana?

and how can you be sure that there will be low demand for wild caught asian arowana? let me remind you that a certificateless arowana is cheaper than the asian arowanas that have certificate.

and i think the main market of asian arowanas is still Asian countries. there are more Asian people that will buy asian arowanas.

exactly.
there are wild ones that are very vibrant in color.
maybe not as beautiful as some of the captives with like special scale or whatever.
but there are very nice wild ones out there.
