Ok, yes, I agree with you there. Most times when you see them as a juv. they are in FW. In order for them to live a long life though they need BW.
 
Nice post Miles, 95% backs up my findings as well, the other 5% is probably a case by case scenario. The only thing I saw that looked incorrect is the lack of teeth. These things have nice big teeth, they just usually are not evident untill around 7"+.

We took 8 from about 4" to between 12" and 20" in less than a year by suplementing the usual bloodworms,tubifex,brine shrimp,daphnia with a mix of very finely chopped mussel prawn and cockle.
 
I bought 3 more today, they are so rare around here anymore I try to snatch them up when I see them. I now have 5 total.
1- 9.75"
1- 7.75"
1- 6.75"
2- 5.5"

Man.. I guess I'll have to get a 125 wide tank when they get bigger :-)
