But at least your inquiring with the intent of a purchase. Many people want the info and never wish to buy anything. If a vendor brings in 6 thin bar dats or 6 jardini. Do you expect a picture of each fish? I hope not. Whats the difference if a fish is wild or breed. 90% of the fish are breed these days wheather you know it or not

Apples and oranges. With an individual seller they will not have six of anything on the average. Asking them for pics and info, helps them sell and gives a free bump. From the vendors, it is a little different. When you have been known for a while, like yourself, n-e cichlids, koji, and so many others. Your word becomes gold. This is a rare opportunity to become "friends" or at least acquaintances with your potential clientèle. As long as the question does not derail, just don't answer and take the free bump if it bothers you or wastes your time in any way.

pending which fish it is.. (might not even pertain to a fish you carry) but some are more desirable in wild caught form, some species wild caught are more desirable in the hobby for fresh blood/better color/etc. And some as guppy might want to know so he knows whether for him to feel comfortable he would have to treat it with a medicine like prazi pro for possible internal parasites, etc. I hate people who are tire kickers too but there are many reasons to know that info. :)

That kinda confused me.... Yea... i would want a picture of EACH fish. I don't mess around when im going to buy fish... The only person I would blindly trust getting a really nice specimen from is Jeff Rapps.

"
Whats the difference if a fish is wild or breed." IM surprised a vendor would say that... The difference mainly, is what the customer wants first off... Second, a lot of people feel wild caught fish are stronger all around, health wise, physically as well.

Just because most fish aren't caught wild, doesn't mean people won't want wild fish.

Actually I feel I contribute quite a bit to MFK, i've taken a liking to it and really like to help people out, you'll see most of my posting in the CA/SA forum where I spend most my time.

When I see people whine that their fish weren't sold in a free market place which could EASILY be something you have to pay for (It is on MANY of my other sites) the only response they deserve is something like this.

The reason(s) that I to know if a fish is wild caught is that it gives me some idea what expect as to health issues, some wild fish I automatically medicate for worms and flukes, the other reason is that some fish I will not purchase if wild caught due to current overexploitation (like zebra plecos), and others that I am interested in only wild caught due to wanting them to strengthen a breeding strain (like bettas).

If you have a suggestion on how better to run the site, we take all suggestions. PM me or someone else and we will consider your suggestion as a team. I am frustrated with people complaining about something that costs nothing.
