KKP X Marble Con.

Looking like a whole lotta faders, would you put the % of faders at 50%? Dying to know...

If you mean muddy with orange/yellow/pink under tones, I would say at least 50%. Whether or not they actually fade remains to be seen. I hope they do though...

Thats awesome, betting all the "muddy" ones you describe will fade to varying degree's. Wether or not they'll all fade to a true red/orange is somewhat questionable..fingers crossed for you!

Thanks, I hope you are right.

I'm seriously so geeked now, this helps prove (to me) that my theory of the fader gene being co-dom is correct.
I'd love to see a fader female from this spawn bred back to a marble con. In theory half the spawn should be faders, you should also see marbled fry from that spawn. The odds of getting marbled fader fry seem pretty good to me! The only question is, will the marbling on a marbled fader be red/orange or white?

Hmmm, valid questions. I have moved the 4 biggest males (?) into a grow-out tank with marble cons about 2 months older. mostly females who are already colored up, so perhaps we'll see some mating behavior before too long. I tend to think the marbling would be black as black is dominant?

No, the fader gene removes black pigment. My guess is the marbling will come out red/orange, usually the darker the color the more red it will become.
