And if you look about 3" behind the plec, directly under the lift tube for the filter, the little female is just starting to peel as well.
Well, I've been thinking about the next step in this breeding endeavor and first I had to choose what my desired end result was and I'm kinda thinking like a mini shor-bodied midas or a piebald mammon,so something like the fish below but the size of a convict give or take.
So the next step for me is to breed back to some short bodied con I have, here is the nicest young male I have now only 2+" but already has a strong tail and good kok development for it's size. Most of the hybrid batch are not short bodied But I assume they would carry the trait? So breeding back to a short bodied con may improve chances to improve this trait. And hopefully get the marble trait to come through as well.

Cool! I was wondering if some might 'peel' as I'm hoping to do Convict x Midas if my Midas is a female. Glad to know!
Been a while so some update shots, some have completely faded others are just beginning and a couple look like midevils and one has blue eyes.
Thanks, I still think the orange guy looks pretty much midevil IMO. still suprised by the lack of short bodied fish.
