Tiger Blood Parrots, that's rich. Shouldn't surprise me though .....

True, I've compared these fish and their gene pools aren't as stable and at times the appearance is unpredictable. True Ingots are very distinctive in their round body shapes, nearly perfect 'geometric balance'. I love 'em but dang, the expense...

You also have smaller breeders who are anxious to get into the market with their own 'type' at lower prices, but you can't rush breeding or genes. Since parrots are hybrids when they destabilize in appearance they really look haywire.

The most comical sale I saw on Ebay was last year when a guy was selling "Tiger Blood Parrots." So I'm like, "What are those?"

Turns out they were parrots that hadn't peeled to their orange color yet.

I fell on the floor laughing, dude wanted $300 for both, selling them as a pair. Basically for a pair of juvenile standard parrots. Cheez.
that is crazy.

Very cute. Would have liked to see a larger one to get a better idea. Check out the Crystal Parrots on ebay. Gorgeous, and have the true parrot shape as well. I'm curious how large they grow.

Price ok on the pearl parrot, shipping...I'd ask for details as to how the fish is packed. I'd have no issue paying more for shipping provided the fish is correctly packed and protected.

So one of my local fish stores, Monster Aquarium in Flushing Queens, gets in all kinds of funky parrots (I've seen Red and Yellow Mammons, Red and Yellow Ingots, the Super Red Crystals, the regular Crystals, Kohaku Parrots, and now apparently a Thai Silk Parrot thing that they are calling a Platinum Parrot???) but I've seen them have 6-8" Super Red Crystal Parrots so I'd say they can get fairly large.

I've also seen a Panda Parrot, which I suspect to essentially be a leusistic parrotfish that should end up a solid white color. They have black markings when they came into my job but over time the black faded.
