what are the doctors saying? I'd go and have them X-ray the knee to see if they maybe messed something up. You are supposed to be feeling better every day not worse.

I will give them a call if it isn't getting any better by tomorrow.

I screwed up and didn't take anything from about 8:00 last night until after I woke up this morning. I was in the mood for a couple of beers last night so I didn't want to take anything after I had a couple of drinks. It wasn't the most responsible thing in the world but I didn't want to make it worse by taking more meds.

I have taken a loritab and an ibuprofen so far this morning, it will take a few horus for them to get ahead of the pain again.

This has confirmed one of my fears though. I was thinking that I was starting to improve a little better than last time. Unfortunately I now don't believe that to be true, the stronger pain killers they gave me just gave me false hope. If it weren't for my hot nurse I don't think I would be able to make it. :)
when do you start therepy??? you need to get it moving...

There is no need to start therapy yet. It hurts way too much to even move it slightly. I plan on doing the same as I did for my other knee in February, I'm going to start it about two weeks after surgery.

What really sucks is that I won't be able to do enough therapy. My insurance company only covers 20 sessions a year. What this means is that I was only able to go to about 10 sessions with my right knee so that I could save the other 10 sessions for my left knee. I'm hoping that it won't have any long term negative effects on me.

I am surprised that therapy is sheduled that late..the reason i say that is because if you do not use your range of motion you can get gobs of scar tissue building up.. and once that happens it is very painful... after knee replacement surgery they put you on a machine that makes your knee bend.. i did not have total knee replacment.. i had a unispacer put in between the two bones.so they would not touch and grind.. i had to go to intensive care due to some complications... so because of that i never got the machine and the scar tissue was horrid to break up... so i would check on that if i were you.. i know your surgery is different but any knee surgery that causes the knee to stay stationary too long would be a concern...

Thank you very much for the information. I will be going to the surgeon one day this week for a check up. I'll have him to give me the prescription for physical therapy while I am there.

I just took a couple of pictures to show the bruising on my legs. I have no idea why I am bruised so high up my thigh or so far down my calf. Please ignore the terrible quality of the pictures. I didn't feel like hiring a professional to take them.

never saw brusing for this type of surgery...not saying anything is wrong.. it is just not a common thing... my sister had the same surgery... nothing this intense..

i had the same surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus. by 2 days after the surgery i was able to walk fine without crutches. in fact, the afternoon after my surgery, i went to my lacrosse game. (i sat on the bench of course). but yea, i didnt have any of the symptoms youre describing, and definitely didnt have any of that bruising. i would definitely bring these concerns up to the doc because something just doesnt seem right.

In February I went in for surgery for a torn meniscus and was expecting a very quick recovery. Unfortunately once they went in the found the other problems. Apparently the lateral release and scraping of the arthritis are much worse than the meniscus repair. :(
