Knives and rays....experiences..?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thought the same thing. If you notice my first response was

Good to know. I have mine seperate now and i'm glad i didn't find out the hard way.... That would have sucked

I was appreciative of the advice. However calling people stupid doesn't get anybody anywhere. David i guarantee has more experience with rays than i do. However I'm pretty decent with BGK care. I'm new to rays, my ray is 4-5 inches, my knife fish is 20plus. Never would have imagined an issue but i sure don't want to find out by having my super knife killed by a ray doing what rays do.

+1 It never had to go to calling anyone stupid haha and I don't care if someone wrote the book on ray husbandry at that point lol.

Reading comprehension problems much anyone?/...Buehler?

I didn't call anyone stupid
I said " I have seen too much stupidity......Discus with Piranha ....." ( re-read the post if you don;t believe)
But..if you are the one that put Discus with Piranha then it applies to you...if the hat fits and you choose to be offended then by all means wear it ( whoever you are, poster or lurker...whatever)
" stupid is as stupid does"
a stupid action is a stupid action..

Then re-read my avatar.

Last post on this subject, and on this forum.
We don't have to wonder why all the really knowledgeable people have quit and why MFK is dying( there used to be amazing professionals on here)...its here in plain sight for anyone to see.

david. i always enjoy your replys but i think your forgetting you were once much like the people who are posting here now.
ive kept fish since i was very young. been finshing since slightly older and got my first ray when i was about 17 or 18 many years ago. ive made my own mistakes and im still make my fair share now im sure (especaily if you ask the right people).

i like to think that im still learning though and im sure that you think there is still plenty to learn too even considering your vast experience and knowledge.

ive kept rays and bred rays for a fair few years but i wouldnt and probably never will consider myself an expert or have nothing left to learn.

"Last post on this subject, and on this forum."

i think this is far beneath you especially over so little and something so obvious... as if nobody has ever made mistakes or even learnt from things that didnt work out so well.
im sure this wont be your last post as your opinion is very much appreciated even though we know you have not made the best choices in the past, present and most likely future too.
nobody knows its wrong until its proven.

love the thread by the way O/P.

UnstoppableJay has a carapo with his knifes. It definitely gets chewed on

Ive had a clown knife with my motoro stingray for about a year now. They have never picked on each other

Bad news. Not all fish are the same. After adding the albino knife my male marble seemed kinda uncomfortable. I didnt really notice until it was too late. Needless to say i lost my male :(
So bummed. I think its the albinos poor vision that spooked the dude. I moved the knife to a bigger tank. I will try it one more time in the bigger tank. If it doesnt work the knife goes.

So sucky. I should have waited on the knife til i had a lg back up tank.
