Knocking Heater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not taking any chances, that's all I need is for it to malfunction and kill the fish, bust the glass, shock myself, etc. So in the trash it goes.

Yea don't take any chances. I think they could explode, there was a thread about this a few months ago. I had one sound horrible, I think it's water getting into them.

Take that heater and contact the manufacturer and they will get you a new in. In the mean time get another one asap. I've seen 500$ dollar cars that are less noisy than that. Jesus

Its the company not that specific heater that's the issue. Have to count the loss and get a different brand.

Its the company that's the issue not that specific heater per say. Just have to count the loss and go with a trusted heater company.

Still make them give you a new one and use it as last resort. I have this Walmart tetra 200 watt it was super cheap like 7 years ago. I still use it in a quarantine tank. Surprised saw it on amazon still selling it and got great reviews I paid maybe 10 bucks for it

Yea definitly get what you can get from
Them but those aqueon heaters are infamous for that is all I'm saying and by trusted didn't necessarily mean high dollar just one that is reviewed well by others . There's forums all over the Internet about aqueon heaters.

I've been having a problem with the same brand heater. It doesn't shut off so I keep having to unplug it to cool the tank off. I'm replacing it today

Thays actually not that rare with the condensation. Like I said before aqueon heaters aren't that good but I know plenty of people that have had them making
Knocking noises and condensation with no issues besides being annoying. But that's my 2 cents and no I wouldn't buy one.
