Koi fish worth $67,500 stolen from Linden resident's pond
LINDEN Police are investigating the theft of 15 koi fish, worth about $67,500 from a pond on the side of a Fernwood Terrace home. Around 11:37 a.m. Sunday, May 9 police responded to the 400 block of Fernwood Terrace for a report of a theft.
A 27-year-old resident reported that sometime during the day Saturday, May 8 while she was at work someone stole 15 koi fish, a colorful carp fish, from a pond on the side of her house.
The fish, which are various sizes and colors are worth about $4,500 each for a total value of $67,500, police said. Lt. James Sarnicki said the woman has had the koi fish for quite a while.
