Kribs with babies!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Is there just the two of them or is there other fish or Kribs in the tank?
It sounds like I'm asking alot of questions but I'm planning on getting a bigger tank and I was wondering how many I can get in there, and whats the smallest tank I can get.
Thanks for YOUR help.
P.S.
All I got is a ten gallon right now.

well if u do a pair alone they would be fine a 20g imo, i had them in a20g tall before with cories, and some blue zebra danios, it didnt work out to well once they started breeding. They have a HUGE cave which they breed in and thre was no problem with tankmates but once the fry were swimming well the whole family quickly took over the tank and the stress of the tank mates made mom and pop eat the babies. so i would suggest 20g with no tank mates, or 29g with top dwellin or fast moving fish. with this current batch i had them in the 29g with there favorite cave and some tank mates, a dwarr gourami and a a swordtail pair, the gourami stays well out of there way on the top mostly and the sword are quick enough to get away and the tank is big enough for everyone to stay out of each others way. They stay in or around the cave for about 10days with the fry/eggs then at two weeks later i will finally see the fry moving around with mom and dad all over the tank. this time i took them out at a small size just incase. i also left 6 or so fry with mom and dad so they breed again when there ready instead f dad going after mom and harrassing. next time i will leave the fry in longer ...and the next time longer, its a matter of me seeing how long they will support the fry for. :) hope that helped and it wasnt me just babbling lol

Selling some fry's anytime soon? =(

for mfkers the babies are free, if u want them shipped i have no problem shipping when they are at a good size i would say 1" and u have to have a proper set up for them already waiting. i would just ask for shipping but for california i would suggest findingthem locally lol as shipping would be quite alot and have to be next day;) thats why i said proper home has to be waiting for them seeing as though it would suck for u to pay shipping and stick ur babies in the wrong tank and they croke :P

aw you're far...and yes i already have a proper tank for them. Can't seem to find any around here in cali. Nice Kirbs btw =)

yeah you would end up spending the same on shipping as u would for like 4 of them at ur lfs. on less they suck and jack up prices. they should be around $4-8 when and if u find them. again. if u dont find them or really want them and the prices around u are the same as shipping i would ship gladly.

they nce and cute, just swimming around, being babies. some of them are bigger than other and already have that krib look to them if u look veeeerrry carefully.

how do u tell them from female and male. after reading this thread im going to try to breed some lol. is it okay to keep them at a pH of around 7
