Chuck, simply cause he was a middle wieght and bruce was a light weight
I think they were friends, or at least knew eachother, they had to, they dominated the sport in their day. Chuck is no wanna be, he was the FIRST whitey recognized as a master by asia. Chuck fought in the diamand nationals in minneapolis every year back then, he was feared and took oppenents out with ease. In karate middle weight and light heavy weight are the toughest, you have the most competition, lightining quick, and they leave a huge ass bruise when they hit, lightwieths and heavy weights will tag you for the point, no power behind it most of the time, light heavys only have one tag ...the hammer, if your lucky its a punch and not a kick
a lot of people got into karate cause of chuck, bruce was more like a cartoon character
He studied Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwan Do, both Korean martial arts, and became the first Westerner to be awarded an eighth-degree Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do. This was a first in 4,500 years of tradition. He held the world middleweight karate champion title for six years, and was named Black Belt magazine's "Fighter of the Year" in 1969.
