"L" Shaped 1000 Gallon Tank Design

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice. I was also planning on a L shaped tank. Mine will probably be much further in the future though. I was debating how to do the corner of the glass either silicone the 2 pieces together or having a wooden "blind" corner. What do you think would be better? Looks like you are going the silicone route? I'd also be doing it quite a bit smaller then your design maybe 6x6 30" deep and 36" wide.

The silicone seam would be cleaner and the build would be sound for it as one piece would push on the other. This would make it stronger than a normal glass aquarium IMO. But, I don't want to cut out and redo the glass because it doesn't line up properly. If it wasn't for me being greedy on stocking, this would be 5 yrs down the road. The steal stand will begin this winter or early next year.

A dilemma has occurred, local fish store has gotten in an Albino Silver Arowana and I am tempted to get him and grow him out for this tank. Thoughts on this anyone? I think with the L it would permit plenty of room for 2 adult Arowana without aggression or am I delusional?

L shape might work though in regular tank 3 aro is best. 2 is tough especially with silver unless they are all mature. try then add tank mates if 3 by themself is too much ruckus.
