mine did it just to show off I think. I would feed him, and the other fish, and he would eat, and then come to the surface and do that. Wierd plec.

at first i thought i couldnt have been feeding him enough. apparently he just preferred the flakes. anyone else had a pleco come to surface for food?

My friend had a L029 that did that also. not for food just the same too.

We think he did it out of boredom. He would do it right after eating.

nah he would do it even when there was still unfinished food laying at the bottom. He has stopped doing it in the last month or so.

to do with water quality? i heard of plecos, esp. common varieties go "crazy" when some water conditions are off

hope water params were perfect. We think he was just a ham, check my gallery, he likes to pose for the camera now too. Well to an extent.
