Make sure you try feeding the L-025 with the light out and meaty foods will probably be the first thing it would go for before veggies. My L-114 and L-600 are VERY nocturnal. Have the light off for a while before you drop food in. We just got a new camera so when we get pics downloaded I will post pics of the L-600 . I would keep them all in seperate tanks atleast until you have seen them eating. This species can be really teritorial and could stress eachother out. Good luck!

My L600 is not nocturnal at all - he eats with lights on (and off of course). L25 is still motionless. i would love to see your 114 and 600 ^^

Yeah, L25 is gonna be separated until he is at least 8-9"

Try feeding your L-25 Ocean Nutrition Formula One or the Shrimp plus flakes. That is all my L-25 will eat and I had him for 6 weeks now. I got him on aquabid. He was eating these flakes the secound day. Will not eat anything else but there is a lot of good stuff in Ocean Nutrition's flake food. Try smearing some fresh garlic on Zucchinni packed with shrimp pellets for your L-25. Good luck you will love this pleco!

We have no specialized pleco food here. Flowerhorn and aro food - yes. Plecos - no. They are not in fashion here ... certainly no one would pay $$$ for a pleco overhere - that is why they are not imported routinely into my country.... ahh yes, will try garlic.

Great plecos i hope that they come around ok.

Thankx, i hope my L25 pulls through too ... it would be very expensive to lose both 24 and 25 ... L600 is doing great and piggying out already ... gotta find a way to get veggies to him cos he is not coming up for them yet

Sweet jesus - awesome pleco, mate ... except that is not a L600 imo. Looks to me that you got yourself another L114, if i am not mistaken, but very nice pic up in any case

Of course i could be wrong since this is my first sortie into pleco hobby.... Now that i am looking at pix of mine i am not so sure no more.

Is there any particular differences that i should look out for

Thanks man. I cannot say that you are wrong about it being an L-114. It was sold as an L-600 so that is what i've been going by. As far as the appearance differences between the L-600 and the L-114, I would be lieing If I said Iknew the difference. To be honest I wondered if it was an L-114 too, but either way I had to get him! I have heard that when L-600's get bigger the red will fade some and the "leopard" print will bleed into the red color on the fins. I again just bought him a couple of days ago. so I did'nt get to watch him mature. Hopefully some of the pleco big shots on this site can clarify the differences for both of us!:D
Oh yeah, now that he has gotten a couple more days in my tank he is much less nocturnal.

wingate
i do belive that is a l114 not l600 due to the larger spots, differant shaped fins and more compresed body

varrrrrrryyyyy nice plecos
over my side of the world plecos like that comand an arm and a leg

Rory thank you for the explanation. I have a pic I just dug up of the pleco I bought from my lfs as an L-114. I personally havent compared the two because they are in different tanks and I just got the big guy. This one is probably only 3.5"

I think the big guy might just be a L-600 after looking at the differences and listening to rory_068's description of the two. What do you think Ctoychik? You told me to post pics, I hope I have'nt gone too far and hijacked your thread. Hoping to help you be sure with your ID too.
