I called the health department and the inspector is going to come here, theyve been comming here more and more recently he said and there getting tired of it. I have a whole list of things wrong with the building too, so they will either have alot of work ahead of them or alot of fines .

Im also fillingo ut this form against the super too for harrasment and causing me to be unhappy where i live so im going to go for compensation in helping me with all my moving costs and because im pregnant and a high risk pregnancy that hes stressing me out to the max.

As far as your health and you families I believe the mold can hurt you. When I lived with my sister there was a small mold problem in my bedroom and after a few weeks I started having a really hard time breathing while I was in there. When I was at work or school I felt fine but im 90% sure the mold was what caused me to have problems. Ive since moved and im fine.

I hope all goes well with that.

fish tanks will not cause mold. your problem is caused from water stagnating behind the walls and inside the window frames. as water evaporates into the air it cannot stagnate and cause mold. bleach water and kilz will fix the surface you can see, but will not fix the problem that exists behind the walls. congrats on the new baby, guess we know what you have been up to.

Not to hijack this thread, but we are having a similar problem in the duplex we're renting. I've cleaned it up with bleach water, and it was fine during the summer, but now that its colder and wetter, it is coming back. It is mostly happening where there isn't good airflow. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem, or is it most likely in the walls?

Thankyou to everyone for you comments, ive been so stressed out by this but boy oh boy am i having fun thinking of all the things im goingto stick him with. He thinks he has headackes now, just wait lol.

Zack it will always come back with the moisture untill the underlining problem is fixed, just keep bleaching i guess and contact the super to let them know the problem, mabey youll have a better super thats willing to help.

That should be easy to fix. I do it all the time for my tenants. Your landlord used the wrong paint! You need to clean it up and use the paint that's mold and mildew resistant. Most people don't know about this and just think all paints are the same. There are paints designed for specifically for the windows, bath and kithchen. You need to get this paint. GL.

I looked at the other pictures... looks like the window area is leaking from outside too and breaking down the drywall around the window area. They need to get this fixed for you. Otherwise after you used the right paint... you get water accumulation. Do you have a ceiling vent in your bathroom?
