Languages! Do you know yours?

I is well at English, but I don't know how to speak Italian, German, or watever language they speak in Ireland. And I don't think any in my family can either.

what i mean is that english flows out with no problems

when i speak in my native tongue, i struggle with what words to say and with pronouncing the words. i tend to be more mechanical. i have to make a conscious effort to speak it where in english it just comes out naturally

Any-who I don't know my native language b/c I don't know my full ethnicity/birth parents/whatever. I was born in America so English would be my native language and I can't say that I speak it or write it well unless I am at work or school and I sometimes have to think about it (I know kinda sad). I would like to learn another language.

wow, were you an orphan or something?

and there's nothing sad about it ash, you're a great person, it doesn't matter what your past is. i'd say you can look at where you are now and who you are now and be proud. not that you're not, just saying

It's cool, I was actually adopted out as a baby so I have great parents (just not my birth ones) and a great life (I do have a lot to be proud of), I just don't know my ethnicity so I wouldn't know my native tongue =] the birth certificate keeps me a mystery. I just suck at English lol, you could say the Florida school system failed me. No one really ever bothered to correct me either. Its just hard now because I need to know good English for papers, resumes and interviews. I seem to do very well with those things but I always get corrected and it is always pointed out that my English and grammar are very bad o_O
 
o i c, so you don't know who your biological parents are?

my wife has terrible spelling and grammar. i was shocked when i first realized it, i couldn't believe how bad it was. i don't know how she has a masters degree, lol. i had to read all her reports and papers to make corrections before she turned them in.
 
Nope I have no clue who they are.

lol, yeah it happens, it was nice that you helped her out though. My boyfriend is always saying something about it and English is his second language. I have a friend of mine read over all of my papers and make corrections. I don't even know how I pass my papers because of how horrendous the English and grammar is, I am just lucky I have such a great friend.
