Lapradei in a 40 breeder

I don't think that sand is tan, more like buff or light beige, which is close to being white. It's not gonna improve the color especially with mix pebbles in there. If you wanna improve the color go for colors that are close to red if you don't want red. Get dark brown, mahogany, dark tan etc etc.
 
She's definitely showing some patterns that weren't too obvious before. Not very bold still though.


I'm going to buy some black gravel to mix in with the stuff I already have. Hopefully that will help. It should actually bring out the colors of both my cichlids in there too.

Moving her just ignited a new flame... I moved the dwarf cichlid, took out the orange canyon rock, and now the tank looks almost empty.

It's hard to believe with a 7-8" severum, a 4-5" pimelodus cat, and an 11" lapradei... but the tank looks bare. There's sooooo much floor space. :drool:
