Hey everyone,

Was hoping ya'll could give me some decent suggestions of a single or pair of Large cichlids I can keep in a 180 gallon tank. I want something that will always be visible and active. And something that gets large and bulky and is colorful. My first thought of course is a flower horn.

Something like this would be cool: http://www.losgladiadoresdelring.co....DownloadItem&g2_itemId=457&g2_serialNumber=1

Any suggestions?? Pics of your own fish welcome too.

There's really only a couple cichlids that wouldn't work in a 180. You have a TON of options. Try browsing through some websites and seeing if anything catches your eye. Do you know where to look on the web for some pictures of less common species easily labeled?

Nothing more active than a large pair of breeding jags

if you want a pair of flowerhorn looking cichlids, get trimacs, or lyonsi or go for the flowerhorn. flowerhorn pairs are not as fun as other cichlids tho imo and i keep a few flowerhorns. 180 is alot for a pair you got options my friend

Why a pair? Do a small comm tank. With 5 male cichlids of different species!

Jag
Midas
Festae
Green terror
Vieja species

Im with Barracuda, the Dovii pair is probably the most awesome pair you could have, they are a big powerful fish that is always impressive to look at, especially if you get one of those really blue males, and really gold females.

However I also like the 5 large male cichlid idea, if you have good filter system on there you could think of having some dithers and a catfish or too also.
