Large datnoids with smaller datnoids??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
eh soulfish, u have ur 1 inch indos with a 7 inch dat? really???
i did a small experiment.
one of my small dats got stuck in my standup pipe cuz im keeping them in my overflow to grow out. and it died. so i took the indo and i dropped it into my community tank. my pulchers in there aroudn 6-7 inches left it alone and just looked at it while it was falling and on the ground. only my leichartdi tried eating it and eventually my motoro ate it. so im guessing u coudl put them together. but i rather not risk it. i like my indos:)

no right now the 1cher is in a 20gal.

the Nadus and big dat are tankmates. I'm getting those two guys next weekend to put them into my empty ninety. But I'm wanting to grow that little dat fast, so he's gonna need more space. He's eating like a champ, just want to gove him some more swining room. I guess I should just replace the 20 Gal which is over stocked for a 50Gal soon. Maybe then I could go pick up two more small dats :)

u coudl prolly keep the dats in the 20 till it hits 2-3 inches. i have my dats in my overflow which is prolly only 5 gallons. they are grwoing. i notice growth every week. once they hit aroudn 1.5 inches there going into the community.

I ended up doing it...

14" tigers with 5" tigers.

No dramas.

i had my 6'' ST in with my 12'' ST but removed it after it took bad.
it on the mend now and will be put in the main tank soon, it got an ulcer on its side but i fixed it.
anyway they got on well when they were together.

You might have more success with more datnoids bro.

If you get a group of 3+ it should work better.

when i had them together they got on real well.
i only removed it after it got what looked like datniod disease but it is almost healed now.
it will be added back into the main tank soon after i sel some of my other stuff and need the cube tank its on for my reef.
getting more is something to look into though its just finding widebars where the problem lies
